Frances and Willy Ruiz Wedding

Weddings, weddings, weddings....oh how I love them.
Since before I can remember I have always dreamed of weddings and being a part on creating the magic. I religiously watched The Wedding Planner  and decided I would grow up to be just that, a wedding planner. I wanted to be the one truly responsible of making the bride and groom's dream day come to life. To meet up with them and truly create the perfect vision of what the most important day of their life's would be like and make it happen. I knew I could always do it because I am a planner, I plan every little affair of my life. From what time to do what and to how to do it but best of all I am a true believer in true love and marriage and all that cheesy romantic stuff. I grew up knowing and believing just that, that one day my life would revolve around love and weddings. I would be a wedding planner or at least be somehow a part/ creator of weddings. So here I am 23 years old, not completely a wedding planner (though I take that role every once in awhile if the opportunity arises) I am a florist. Not really what I had imagined growing up but just or even better. I get to create the actual centerpieces the real beauty and decor of the weddings I love so much. So I think it is an even better job than what I had once imagined for myself.
And not to long ago I got to be a part as a coordinator and florist of  the union of two great people:

Frances and Willy Ruiz.

Making a come back!

It's been months since my last blog post and I realized that I had much updating to do.
Since my last post I've done parties, bachelorette's, weddings, and random little projects that have been a total success. I've been working on my life and even on a novel dun dun dun, it sounds a bit ridiculous that I'd be writing a novel but it helps writing a different reality and being able to control a life you've invented when you have no control over your own, so if I ever get to finishing it I might just post a peak or two of the world I have created... these things have been occupying my time to a full capacity and I've neglected one of my favorite little passerbys...my blog. I've made a little promise to myself to post at least 1 new blog a week. It seems like a piece of cake to do a posting every week but when life happens...things get left behind.
So here goes my first post and to keeping true to my own promises.

FIRST NEW POST: Starting my own business

I recently ordered my very first set of business cards, being that doing weddings and events is my new career path as a florist and this creation of mine was the choice I used as the cover of my cards.
This arrangement is a combination of all my favorite flowers...hydrangea, peonies, orchids, scabiosa daisies, and roses.  I had to choose this as my cover because it depicts the kind of designer I am... Lover of French designs with a bit of a tropical girly flare. Makes sense? probably not so much but this is me and I like it. So if you come across my work and are interested in my designs you can contact me anytime.

Boutnierres

With dances, weddings, and certain events, men are accessorized with floral boutnierres. It's kind of a funny tradition seeing that normally men repel flowers, thinking they are only for girls. But boutnierres just make a tux at an event look kinda charming, especially when matching with their date. There's so many styles and flowers you could use but the traditional ones are always made with roses. Here's some samples of the different colored rose boutnierre.

A twist on country french

Country French arrangements have a range of flowers that are usually used. Hydrangea being one of the most popular. But it's always nice to give it a twist and add a flower that you wouldn't usually blend with a certain look. Rarely do you find sunflowers in anything country french but by adding it in the arrangement below I think it gives it a beautiful new contrast and makes this country french arrangement a complete different style.

modern tropicals for weddings

This arrangement I made thinking of a very colorful tropical style wedding. It would be beautiful for centerpieces in any table.

a touch of succulents.

Succulents are a great touch to any arrangement. They're super easy to maintain and rarely need water especially when planted. They are mostly used in urban designs but compliment well with many flowers. And I pretty much cant get enough of them. Here's a demonstration of how nicely succulents work with flowers.

Under the sea

Had an under the sea inspiration.... full of shells, and flowers that look like they were pulled out of the ocean.  With the corrals and colors in the ocean its hard not to get inspired. This would be a style I'd use for a wedding by the sea.. You like?
