A dozen rose bouquet is about the most popular arrangement sold in a flower shop.
For me it gets old ....and people seem to love it because its simple and an easy way to get the message through. Men think that giving a simple red dozen roses bouquet is easier than having to say I love you because it normally implies it. But after awhile a dozen red roses gets boring. Sometimes giving a girl something different from what you always give her is more meaningful to her. If you're used to giving the same bouquet every time to every girl u like then the meaning isn't as impactable as before. So changing it up and giving something totally different to the person you love may mean more. The fact that you went a different route and took time to give her something different might make her feel unique. But if you're a traditionalist and still love giving out roses then put a twist to it.
Heres an example of a dozen roses with a twist.
A variety of other flowers, a different vase, and maybe shells twists it up a bit.

Marie Antoniette inspiration
One of my favorite eras of all time were the late 1700's, what i call the Marie Antoniette era.
The fashion in those days was incredible and I truly believe it was one of the most beautiful eras of all time. Excluding the politics it was un-matchable. Everything about that time was created on detail and beauty...From the interior design of their homes to their apperal...every little bit of it made them look like a masterpiece. Even their hair pieces were art. The colors they used were always cheery pastels and beautiful golds. They took so much pride in their house decor, that every inch of the house had something in display. And flowers, well they were all the rage those days. Everything had some sort of floral inspiration...and for me that itself makes it the top reason of why i love it so much. Check out this picture from the Marie Antoniette movie...
For me this picture is breath taking ... maybe one day ill have a wall in my house like that.

Clothes these days don't even compare.
This next picture inspired my newest floral creation..
the bayou
If you've ever been to New Orleans you might know way more than me in how the bayou looks.
Unfortunately I've never been but I have seen a couple of movies and it looks pretty amazing.
I just picture crazy floppy trees like willows when i think of it. I might be waay wrong though but
I made an arrangement that just seems to remind me of it. So I named it the bayou.
I just picture it in a new orleans restaurant or hotel.

Engagement Party
This weekend I hosted my sister's engagement party and it came out great for a backyard event.
I'm not very experienced with the event planning deal of it all but I think it was a success for a first timer like me. I can't wait to start planning more. The event started with some cocktails, beers, and wine. Then we had a sit down dinner where we served lasagna, a 3 choice of vinagrettes salad with mushrooms and blue cheese, and warm bread rolls. After dinner there was a projector with a slide show of pictures of the newly engaged couple that was pretty amazing. And well for the rest of the night...let's just say there was a ton of mingling and drinking. So overall it was a great beginning of what lays ahead for the happy couple.
Here's tons of pictures of the arrangements I made and how we set the event up.
