Thanksgiving Arrangements
Thanksgiving is one of the biggest holidays for floral centerpieces. People host dinner's all over the world and having a pretty arrangement in the mist of your celebration is a great touch to your celebration. If you're hosting the dinner at your home it's always nice to have one for decoration or if you're a guest and want to bring a little something for dinner, bring an arrangement, it's a perfect way to say thank you.
I made a ton of centerpieces for people these past few days and here is just a few of samples and styles that can be perfect for thanksgiving.
A fun style would be a pumkin arrangement... definetely will strike some conversation.
Low but long arrangements are more traditional for the holiday season and here's just a few of my favorite creations.

Romantic Bday Dinner for 2
Other than making flower arrangements , planning surprises and events is my secret little hobby. So when it's time to plan my boy friend's birthday I tend to go all out. Every year something crazy pops in my head and once it's there I have to do it. So this year I wanted to do something personal, not too crazy in the expenses but very romantic. I made him a surprise dinner for 2 in my little house balcony. All it took was some christmas lights, candles, flowers, music, and a bit of a cooking skill and I have to say it came out just perfect. Heres a few pictures I took of my set up and dinner. :)
Before the event (day time set up)
Teriyaki Chicken Fetuccini
A total success :)

Kale
If you like to create with odd flowers or plants and have an eye for something different, you'll love using kale. For many kale looks like a style of cabbage and lettuce but it's in fact also a flower. It is edible but at flower shops it's used for decoration. Either way you be the judge and see if you like it only on a plate of salad or as a flower arrangement.
The middle lettuce like green flower is Kale.
Here's a picture of it on its own.
A table topper
This idea can be used for any party. For a wedding of sunflowers, an engagement party, a dinner, well about anything...u get the idea. Make sunflowers look a bit more formal by adding lizianthus and a touch of black .
Rustic and vintage pots u gotta love
I'm sure everyone has that random old rustic pot that they've been harboring at home for years. If it's not yours I'm sure mother or grandma have a couple of their own that just hang out at home in the randomest of places. Most people use them to hold a plant in or just as a random home decoration. But if you want to do something a bit different , add flowers to it. Hosting a little get together? well instead of the usual glass vase floral arrangement use a pot that you've had for years and make it something beautiful and classic. Vintage pots make about the best flower arrangement vases ever...sure makes any couple of flowers look like they're worth twice as much.
Definetely makes this rustic cracked pot look fabulous.

Bubble bowl
One of the most common vases for arranging is the bubble bowl. You can find it almost anywhere and they rarely get higher than $20. So if you have one at home (maybe your dead goldfishes ex home ) you can re-use and create a little something. Heres an idea of an inexpensive cute bubble bowl arrangement.
Dahlia
It's been forever since my last post and I have so much I'd love to share. Making arrangements for people has really become a passion of mine. It's a lovely feeling to know that your work can impact a persons day profoundly. Not only are flowers beautiful but theres certain meanings behind them. People give flowers for love and to cheer people up and about every other occassion. And I get to witness a smile on someones face everyday for something I've created. So I've learned to truly love it.
The best part is that you can find a style for everyone. And the style for this post is for a girly french dahlia loving person...if that makes sense at all. And with that heres my creation ...
What most appeals to me in this arrangement is the amazing dahlia, i don't think there is any prettier.

A twist a dozen
A dozen rose bouquet is about the most popular arrangement sold in a flower shop.
For me it gets old ....and people seem to love it because its simple and an easy way to get the message through. Men think that giving a simple red dozen roses bouquet is easier than having to say I love you because it normally implies it. But after awhile a dozen red roses gets boring. Sometimes giving a girl something different from what you always give her is more meaningful to her. If you're used to giving the same bouquet every time to every girl u like then the meaning isn't as impactable as before. So changing it up and giving something totally different to the person you love may mean more. The fact that you went a different route and took time to give her something different might make her feel unique. But if you're a traditionalist and still love giving out roses then put a twist to it.
Heres an example of a dozen roses with a twist.
A variety of other flowers, a different vase, and maybe shells twists it up a bit.

Marie Antoniette inspiration
One of my favorite eras of all time were the late 1700's, what i call the Marie Antoniette era.
The fashion in those days was incredible and I truly believe it was one of the most beautiful eras of all time. Excluding the politics it was un-matchable. Everything about that time was created on detail and beauty...From the interior design of their homes to their apperal...every little bit of it made them look like a masterpiece. Even their hair pieces were art. The colors they used were always cheery pastels and beautiful golds. They took so much pride in their house decor, that every inch of the house had something in display. And flowers, well they were all the rage those days. Everything had some sort of floral inspiration...and for me that itself makes it the top reason of why i love it so much. Check out this picture from the Marie Antoniette movie...
For me this picture is breath taking ... maybe one day ill have a wall in my house like that.

Clothes these days don't even compare.
This next picture inspired my newest floral creation..
the bayou
If you've ever been to New Orleans you might know way more than me in how the bayou looks.
Unfortunately I've never been but I have seen a couple of movies and it looks pretty amazing.
I just picture crazy floppy trees like willows when i think of it. I might be waay wrong though but
I made an arrangement that just seems to remind me of it. So I named it the bayou.
I just picture it in a new orleans restaurant or hotel.
